Our hospital was built in 1971 and redesigned in 1996 to add 8,630 square feet, to expand the Emergency Department and Surgical Site. In 2003, a renovation and expansion project was completed to the patient wing, physical therapy, and rural health clinic. A conference room and new emergency department was also added.

Wayne County Hospital is fully accredited by the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP) and was selected as a HCIA "Top 100 Hospital" in 1995 and 1996.
